The Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) is the national body representing the architectural profession in Australia, dedicated to advancing design excellence, sustainability, and professional development. To support its commitment to providing high-quality education and member services, AIA partnered with Lingel Learning to enhance and modernise its online learning environment.
Lingel Learning provided Moodle hosting for the production environment, supported by custom integration and development to align with AIA’s existing systems and workflows. This included the creation of custom iMIS/ATS sync plugins for authentication, enrolment, and completion tracking between Moodle and iMIS, ensuring seamless data synchronisation for user accounts, course enrolments, activity completions, and progress updates.
Additional work included configuration, testing, and data cleanup, as well as the development of a custom certificate plugin to display the Architects Registration Number for multiple states. Lingel Learning developed an interactive course incorporating quizzes, glossaries, and branded design elements consistent with AIA’s PALS content.
The project delivered a streamlined, integrated, and visually consistent LMS that improved operational efficiency and the learner experience. With automated iMIS integration, state-specific certification functionality, and engaging course design, the Australian Institute of Architects gained a robust digital platform that enhances professional education and supports its mission of fostering excellence in Australian architecture.
