The National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) is the peak industry body representing electrical and communications contractors across Australia. With over 7,000 member businesses, NECA provides advocacy, training, support services, and resources to help contractors succeed in a highly technical and safety-driven industry. To strengthen their training and reporting capabilities, NECA partnered with Lingel Learning to deliver a powerful Moodle-based learning solution tailored to the needs of their apprentices, contractors, and administrators.

About
the Project

The solution was built on Moodle Hosting with the Virtual Slate framework, implemented across staging and production environments. Key components included:

  • Data migration: A full migration from Totara LMS, including users and course data.
  • Systems integration: Development of a two-way integration between Job Ready and Moodle to streamline workflows.
  • Custom reporting: Developed tailored reports to track learner progress, completions, and key performance metrics across courses and activities.

The Result

The project delivered a scalable, modern learning management environment that supports both compliance and industry-specific training needs. With seamless integration to Job Ready, robust migration from legacy systems, and a comprehensive set of custom reports, NECA gained a platform that enhances visibility, improves efficiency, and ensures contractors and apprentices have access to reliable, industry-aligned training.
